NEWS FROM TIMES PAST – NALGO Branch Archive

Our Branch archive holds some interesting documents ranging from minute books dating from 1929 and newsletters spanning the last 3 decades. Some of our older members may be interested in recalling the issues being addressed by one of UNISON’s founder unions NALGO (National Association of Local Government Officers) in 1980.

Signed in members can view or download the document from the link at the bottom of the page.

The price of tea & coffee at the Town Hall canteen was a major item of concern with NALGO pressing for mugs in addition to the normal cup size!

It is also interesting to note the name of NALGO’s Publicity Officer at that time, which just goes to prove that if you want to get ahead then join a trade union. From union activist to Chief Executive is quite an achievement.

If you would like to see more from our archive let us know by leaving a comment and we will make this a regular feature on the site.
